It all goes down later today (Sat., Aug. 10, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 14 live on ESPN+ from inside Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay, as reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko takes on MMA veteran and former UFC title challenger Liz Carmouche, who holds a TKO victory over the champ from back in 2010.
MMA Fighting has UFC Uruguay results for the Shevchenko vs. Carmouche 2 event Saturday night at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Here is the main card for Saturday’s show:
Featherweight: Enrique Barzola (15-4-1) vs. Bobby Moffett (14-4)
Middleweight: Rodolfo Vieira (5-0) vs. Oskar Piechota (11-1-1)
Light heavyweight: Volcano Oezdemir (15-4) vs. Ilir Latifi (14-6, 1 NC)
Featherweight: Luiz Eduardo Garagorri (11-0) vs. Humberto Bandenay (14-6, 1 NC)
Welterweight: Vincente Luque (16-6-1) vs. Mike Perry (13-4)
Women’s Flyweight championship: Valentina Shevchenko (17-3) vs. Liz Carmouche (13-6)
In the main event, UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will try to avenge a past loss to Liz Carmouche.
The history books will show that Shevchenko lost a bantamweight bout to former UFC title challenger Liz Carmouche in 2010. The fight took place in obscure Concho, Oklahoma, under the banner of the equally obscure C3 Fights. Shevchenko, a native of Kyrgyzstan who was returning to MMA that night after a four-year break, lost via second-round TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage on a cut.
n addition to Carmouche’s rematch with “Bullet,” surging welterweight finisher Vicente Luque will take his shot against heavy-handed knockout artist Mike Perry in the co-main event, former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will try to avoid a four-fight losing streak when he squares off with division powerhouse Ilir Latifi, and talented featherweight finisher Luiz Eduardo Garagorri will make his Octagon debut against youngster Humberto Bandenay.
While many fans continue to wait to see whether Shevchenko will get a third shot at defeating Nunes due to how disputed the decision in their 2017 rematch was, “Bullet” will get a chance to redeem herself against Carmouche (13-6) on Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Montevideo, Uruguay.
